Recombinant form of human NT-pro BNP (N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide) which
is produced in Escherichia coli. The expression construct contains residues 27 to 102 of UniProt
entry P16860 with the following substitution: H27A. The exchange of histidine to alanine
facilitates the removal of a preceding N-terminal methionine by E. coli Methionine
aminopeptidases (MetAP). The identity of the Ala27 N-terminus is confirmed by N-terminal
sequencing (Edman degradation).
The recombinant protein is produced with an E. coli expression system and purified using
affinity chromatography.
